Black Republican Elected Officials


Tim Scott is the junior United States Senator for South Carolina, in office since 2013. Previously he was the U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 1st congressional district from 2011 to 2013. Elected in November 2010 to the 112th Congress, he was the first Republican African-American Representative from South Carolina since 1897.

 

Representative Jane E. Powdrell-Culbert - (R)



Jane Powdrell-Culbert is a Republican member of the New Mexico House of Representatives. She has represented the 44th District since 2003.

                                             Rep. Stefani Carter - Texas


Stefani Carter is a Texas State Representative, representing the 102nd District which includes parts of Dallas, and the Northern Dallas County suburbs of Garland, and Richardson. Carter, was elected in 2010 and made history by becoming the first Republican African-American woman to serve in the Texas House by defeating Democrat Carol Kent




T.W. Shannon currently serves in the Oklahoma House of Representatives as the Speaker of the House, a position he took over after the 2012 elections. He presides over the 54th Oklahoma Legislature.


Jackie Winters is a Republican politician in the U.S. state of Oregon. She currently serves as a state senator, representing her Salem district. Winters was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in 1998, and became the first African-American Republican ever to serve in the Oregon Legislative Assembly.


Donald A. Blakey - Delaware



Donald Blakey is a Republican member of the Delaware House of Representatives, representing the 34th District since 2006. Blakey is currently a visiting professor at Delaware State University. He worked in school administration for the Caesar Rodney School District from 1968-1990, and was a Professor at Delaware State College from 1959-1968.



                                                   
Mia Love is currently the mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and was the 2012 Republican Party nominee for the United States House of Representatives in Utah's 4th congressional district.



Marc Morgan  is currently the ANC commissioner for Washington, DC

Chelsi P Henry- Florida



Chelsi P Henry is a Florida native and a third-year law student at the Florida Coastal School of Law. She holds a seat on Duval County’s Soil and Water Conservation District, to which she was elected fresh out of undergrad in 2010. 


Scott Turner is a retired American football cornerback and a Texas State Representative, representing the 33rd District which includes all of Rockwall County. He is a member of the Republican Party.

Rep. Willie Talton - Georgia


Willie Talton is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 147.


James White is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing the 12th District. He has served since 2011.


Brian Jarvis - City Council



Brian V. Jarvis was elected to Beavercreek City Council (Ohio) for the four-year term commencing in January 2010, serving the first two years as the City’s Vice Mayor.  Previously, Brian was appointed to City Council in February 2009 to fill the Council seat vacated by Jarrod Martin, who was elected to the General Assembly as a state legislator representing this district.

Nick Steward - City Council



Nick Steward is a member of the Clarksville City Council in Tennessee.
